Tolonda Henderson, graduate student from George Washington State University, receives the Graduate Paper Award for Science Fiction and Fantasy from Shane Trayers, a judge for the award, and Lynnea Chapman King, Executive Director of SWPACA, for her paper, “The Statue and the Sign: The Origins and Significance of the Memorials to the Potter Family.”

Jayne Simpson, graduate student at the University of Texas San Antonio, receives the Graduate Paper Award for Television, Music, and Visual Media from Chuck Hamilton, a judge for the award, for her paper, “Country Love Songs as Support of Detrimental Ideas of Masculinity: Tyler Farr’s ‘Redneck Crazy.’”

Kalyn Price, graduate student at Abilene Christian University, receives the Graduate Paper Award for Historic and Contemporary Cultures from Lynnea Chapman King, Executive Director of SWPACA, for her paper, “We Hold These Truths to be Self-Evident: The Intertextual Appeal of Hamilton: An American Musical.”

Haythem Bastawy, graduate student at Leeds Trinity University, receives the Graduate Paper Award for Languages and Literatures from David Oberhelman, a judge for the award, for his paper, “Anglo French Arabian Nights: One Thousand and One Nights in European Myths and Fairy Tales.”
